Cardinal Health’s New Home in a Reimagined Industrial Hub
Cardinal Health expanded its footprint in Northeast Ohio last year by moving into a newly constructed, state‑of‑the‑art distribution facility at the Forward Innovation Center in Walton Hills, OH. The move represents both a major investment in regional economic development and a key advancement in Cardinal Health’s nationwide modernization strategy.
The 248,000 SF facility stands on a redeveloped portion of the former Ford Motor Company campus, which has been transformed into the Forward Innovation Center East. Developed through a collaboration between Weston, Inc., DiGeronimo Companies, and Scannell Properties, it represents one of Northeast Ohio’s most significant redevelopment projects, designed to bring new jobs and next‑generation industrial capabilities back to the region.
Walton Hills Mayor Don Kolograf welcomed the move, noting that the company’s investment “demonstrates ongoing commitment to increase U.S. warehouse capacity and modernize operations” and strengthens the village’s economic vitality
The site offers heavy power, LED lighting, modern construction features, and high visibility along major transportation corridors, including Interstates 271 and 480, as well as rail access. Its location is within close proximity to Cleveland, major healthcare institutions, and logistics infrastructure like Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
Cardinal Health is a pharmaceutical and medical supply company which provides nearly 90% of U.S. hospitals with essential products and services and has serviced Northeast Ohio for more than 25 years.
