Case Study | Polywood
State-of-the-art 500,000 SF Polywood manufacturing facility completed
Weston Inc. successfully finalized the sale of the Polywood Campus located at 3100 and 3300 Jim Thorpe Highway, Roxboro, NC.
Polywood specializes in transforming milk jugs and other plastic bottles into pellets, which are then extruded into lumber for outdoor furniture. Their brand has become well-known, much like how Kleenex is synonymous with tissues, and they are experiencing rapid growth.
In April 2019, we acquired the existing Polywood building, which spans 430,000 SF. Through our collaboration with the Polywood organization, we were chosen to construct a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility covering 500,000 SF on the adjacent land, a project our Development Team completed in January 2024. This expansion brought the total size of Polywood’s Roxboro campus to 930,000 SF across two buildings.
Given the current market conditions and the significant value added by the newly constructed facility, we decided to market the property. We successfully secured a buyer who specializes in larger buildings in the southern and southeastern United States. The buyer appreciated the quality of the buildings, the location and the tenant, ultimately outbidding several competitors for the property.
The sale of Polywood adds to our portfolio of Carolina Industrial properties we have sold in Trenton, SC, and Claremont, NC.
