The Standard Apartments, Downtown Cleveland
The conversion of The Standard building from a high rise office building into residential apartments in Downtown Cleveland is now complete! The first renters have moved in last week and are enjoying their new downtown digs. Ed Asher from Weston discusses the project with Bill Wills from WTAM 1100 AM Radio at length. Listen in to hear him give some history about the building, the state of downtown Cleveland, and give an interesting tidbit about Weston.
About The Standard: The Standard Building was erected in 1924 to house the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Cooperative National Bank. It is a testament to its time with an exquisite marble lobby and wonderful art deco flourishes throughout and is now being converted from offices into 281 apartment suites. The Standard is the ideal combination of classic tradition and modern amenities that elevates apartment living and sets a new standard for the Downtown Cleveland lifestyle. It features 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with contemporary design and sweeping views of Lake Erie, First Energy Stadium, and the Gold Coast. With ornate starbursts that adorn the interior and exterior, the terracotta façade and the grand staircase, the building is a showpiece and it’s now repositioned to continue to be an asset to the Downtown Cleveland footprint.
