Weston and Gilbane to Develop Cleveland’s “Super Block”.
March 19, 2009. Weston Development Company is proud to announce their Joint Venture with Gilbane Development of Providence, RI to develop their land in Cleveland’s downtown warehouse district. The plans call for approximately 900,000 SF mixed-use development of Class A offices, fine dining, shopping, fitness facilities, and upscale hospitality as well as residential units with secure structured parking. The site, comprised of 2 entire city blocks, was recently touted by local news sources as Cleveland’s “super block”. Bounded by West 3rd, Superior, West 6th, and St. Clair, the site comprises over 7 acres.
“Gilbane Development was the logical choice for Weston to partner with”, said Weston Development President Mark Horton. “They have a wealth of development experience, with local projects such as The Cleveland Clinic, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and Case Western Reserve University. We are thrilled to team our vision with their developmental expertise”.

The joint venture hopes to begin construction in 2009. Negotiations are already underway with several key prospects. “For Weston, this project has been 40 years in the making, as this was the first property ever purchased by Weston”, said Jamey Asher, President of Weston Inc. “The idea that we, as a team, could build this legacy to downtown Cleveland, creating jobs and providing growth to this area that has served us both so well is something we look forward to with great anticipation”.

Weston Acquires More Square Feet!
Greenville and Columbia, South Carolina Industrial locations acquired this week.
Weston has acquired two properties in the last week totaling over 725,000 square feet. The recent acquisitions includes a 549,000 square foot industrial facility located in Greenville, SC, and a 163,000 square foot distribution facility in Columbia, SC.
The Greenville facility, a former home to Hitachi’s manufacturing plant, can accommodate warehousing and manufacturing tenants ranging in size from 50,000 to 500,000 SF. This 549,000 SF facility is prominently located in the city of Greenville with excellent visibility and access to the interstates. It promises to be state of the art by the time Weston’s renovations are complete.

Weston has added two new facilities to its portfolio. The first is a 102,000sf facility in New Braunfels, Texas, which is just south of Austin. A tenant by the name of EH Systems has been put in place to occupy the entire building.The other is a 400,000sf of industrial space in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This facility is 100% occupied by the Louis-Dreyfuss company which is in the business of cotton storage. A little interesting known fact, Louis-Dreyfuss is the father to Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, better known as Elaine from Seinfeld.
